Oncology Massage
The main goal of Oncology Massage is to enhance the patient’s sense of well-being by providing a gentle, soothing and supportive touch. Massage can play a major role in palliative care for cancer patients and is used by many hospitals, hospices and support groups.
Massage can help –
-
- Relax your mind and body
- Relieve tension
- Improve the flow (lymph) in the lymphatic system
- Enhance your mood
Some studies of people with cancer suggested that massage therapy reduced symptoms such as pain, nausea, anxiety, depression and fatigue.
We always encourage clients to ensure that their therapist has been properly trained and qualified in this area. Lucy Littlewood, our Oncology Massage Therapist qualified in September 2016.
